🧠 Analyzing Games in VideoArena

VideoArena gives Coaches and Analysts powerful tools to tag, filter, analyze, and share game moments, all from within your Arena. From event tagging to drawing tools and advanced clip filtering, this guide walks you through everything you need to know to break down your footage effectively.

🏷 Creating and Managing Tags (Tag Menus)

Only Administrators and Coaches can create and manage Tag Menus.

📌 How to Create a Tag Menu

1. Open the sidebar and click “Tag Menu”

2. Click “Create New Tag”

3. Fill out the form:

   • Tag Name (e.g. Goal, Shot, Corner)

   • Tag Color (color picker)

   • Tag Size: Small, Medium, or Large (affects button size in tagging panel)

Once created, these tags will be available in the tagging sidebar when watching any game.

💡 You can create an unlimited number of tags — tailor your tagging system to your team’s style of play.

🎯 Tagging Highlights Manually

While watching a game:

1. Click the blue arrow on the right-hand side to expand the tagging menu.

2. Your created tags will appear as buttons.

3. When an event happens in the video, click the tag to mark that moment.

For each tag, you can:

• Assign a Team: Your team, Opponent, or None

• Select a Player: Dropdown of all users with the Player role in that Arena

• Share With:

  • All Users (default): visible to everyone in the Arena

  • Specific User: visible only to the selected user

  • Private: only visible to the creator

🖥️ For the best experience, use a laptop or larger screen when tagging — this ensures the tagging menu is always visible and easy to interact with.

📊 Viewing Tags and Game Stats

🕓 Timeline Tag View

• Tags appear below the video on a timeline.

• Hover to see the timestamp.

• Click a tag to jump to that moment in the video.

📈 Stats Summary

• Click the “Stats” button above the video.

• View a breakdown of all tags by:

  • Tag type

  • Team

  • Opponent

  • Total counts

🔍 Using the Insight Navigator

The Insight Navigator is a powerful tool that helps you view and filter all tags across all games in your Arena.

1. Open the Insight Navigator from the sidebar.

2. Apply filters:

   • Game

   • Tag Creator

   • Player

   • Tag Type

3. Click “Watch” next to any tag to jump straight to that moment in the original game video.

📁 Insight Navigator is ideal for post-match review, building reports, or creating highlight reels.

✂️ Clipping Key Moments

You can create and download custom video clips directly in the game viewer.

How to Clip:

1. While watching a game, click the scissors icon to start clipping.

2. Click again to stop the clip.

3. Fill out the form:

   • Title

   • Description

   • Download? (Yes or No)

4. Click Save Clip

If download = Yes, the clip will download instantly. All clips are saved to the Clips page.

🎞 Viewing and Filtering Clips

From the Clips page, you can:

• See all saved clips across your Arena

• Filter by:

  • Game

  • Player

  • Tag

  • Creator

• Click Watch to jump to the start of the clip in the original video

✏️ Drawing and Annotating on Video

While the video is paused:

• A drawing menu appears with tools to:

  • Draw lines and arrows

  • Add spotlights and highlights

  • Write notes

  • Change colors

• You can save the drawing as an image, perfect for reports or team presentations.
